Cornerstone Healthcare Unveils 2024/25 Impact Report and celebrates IMPACT CERTIFIED Award

Cornerstone has published its Sustainability Impact Report for 2024/25, celebrating a year of outstanding achievements in care quality, employee wellbeing, and industry-leading environmental sustainability.
The report highlights Cornerstone’s continued commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care while embedding sustainable practices into every aspect of its operations.

Leading the Way in Sustainable Care
- Achieved FuturePlus IMPACT CERTIFIED status with an improved ESG score from 289/500 to 321/500 in one year.
- Contributing positively to 14 of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
- Diverted 90% of waste from landfill, introduced food waste separation and moved to fresh, locally sourced suppliers.
- Expanded use of solar panels, electric vehicle charging points, and cycle-to-work incentives to reduce carbon footprint.
Investing in People
- Workforce expanded to 378 employees, with enhanced wellbeing support including private medical insurance, mental health champions, and new breakout spaces.
- Over 300 staff trained in-house in NAPPI techniques to improve resident care.
- Honoured 17 colleagues at Long Service Awards, representing 160 collective years of dedication.
- Partnered with The Care Workers’ Charity to fund vital crisis support for UK care workers.
Award-Winning Excellence in Care
- Named Specialist Care Provider of the Year – Small Group at the HealthInvestor Awards 2024 and 2025.
- Achieved Affiliate Organisation status with NAPPI UK, reinforcing Cornerstone’s commitment to restraint reduction and best practice in specialist training.
- Partnered with Care England to deliver groundbreaking research on decaffeination in care settings, improving outcomes for residents.
Expanding Sustainable Care with The Burren
In June 2025, Cornerstone opened The Burren, an 80-bed eco care home in Bristol built to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ standards. This innovative home features solar power, air-source heat pumps, and a living roof that benefits local biodiversity, creating 140 new jobs and setting a new benchmark for sustainable care homes.
