The Burren welcomes healthcare professionals prior to official opening

We are proud to bring our sector leading specialist care service to Bristol, as we anticipate the opening of The Burren in mid-June 2025. The new care home will provide specialist care for vulnerable people with challenging behaviours associated with complex neurological, physical, and mental health issues.
Prior to our first residents moving in, the team at The Burren have opened their doors to local health and social care professionals to provide a preview of what’s being offered.
This new service will be focused on maximising independence and enriching the lives of our residents comprises and the home has been designed with this specifically in mind. The building is divided into ‘household lodges’, each with 16 en-suite bedrooms plus its own lounge, dining room, bathroom, and nursing rooms. The Burren has also been designed in accordance with dementia-friendly acoustics and for the complex needs of the residents, who will also be able to enjoy a living garden and rooftop terrace.
Throughout the build process, we have committed to minimising the environmental impact of building works and planned sustainable practices within the building, such as the use of renewable energy. Our aim is to be awarded BREEAM Excellent certification for the high level of sustainability achieved.
Cornerstone Healthcare Group CEO, Paul Hayes, stated: “I am delighted to be welcoming local health and social care professionals to our new service so that they can better understand the unique offering will be providing at The Burren for the benefit of those with complex needs within the Bristol area.”
